Ian Callum wants Jaguar to build a Supermini
Jaguar’s Design boss, Ian Callum, has a passion for Jaguar to build a Supermini – although it could be a way off. Ian Callum’s designs have moved Jaguar from a design pastiche of the past to an individual and contemporary design language that acknowledges the past but cleverly heralds the future. From the XJ to the new F-Type by way of the XF (now even better now it’s closer to Callum’s original C-XF Concept) and even the XK, Callum’s foresight is a big part of Jaguar’s resurgence.
The 100th car of Koenigsegg’s history has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show – the Koenigsegg Hundra – a one-off Agera S. Now the Koenigsegg Hundra (Hundra means 100th in Swedish) has been unveiled on the floor at Geneva, representing 4000 man hours of effort by Koenigsegg to make their 100th car special. Costing the deep-pocketed Hong Kong customer a hefty $1.6 million (half the price of the Lamborghini Veneno) the Hundra is based on the Agera S – 1016bhp and 811lb/ft of torque, 1400kg, 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds – and sports a naked carbon fibre body with gold leaf highlights.

Last weekend Lexus teased the production version of their new compact SUV – the Lexus NX – ahead of its debut, and this morning we get the official reveal and details of specification and powertrains. Aimed at compact SUVs like the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, the production version of the Lexus NX may have been toned down somewhat from the LF-NX Concept, but it’s still a bold design and keeps a degree of the angularity of the concept; it’ll stand out in the sector – no bad thing. As you’d expect, the big, bold Lexus grill makes its presence felt, with slim LED headlights, big wheelarches, statement alloys (17″ or 18″), sculpted bonnet, sharp creases on the flanks and a back end that’s as angular as the front.
